Water inflatable rubber dam is a kind of water-inflated stable tear-shaped rubber dam. Rubber dam consists of civil works, dam bag, anchor, filling drainage facilities and control system. It is made of strength canvas as reinforced framework and rubber layer which ensure tightness of the rubber layers. Compared with air inflatable rubber dam, water inflatable rubber dam is more expensive and slower to fill but more stable to provide optimal control over upstream water levels. It is fixed to concrete to create a permanent dam or floodgate. Water can spill over the top automatically without additional support or adjustment. When the flood is coming, rubber weir can completely collapse, does not have water resistance. Water-filled rubber dams use water as the inflation medium, with core features of stable operation, strong durability, and low maintenance costs. Their application environments focus on water conservancy scenarios requiring high stability in water retaining and easy access to water sources, and they are particularly suitable for small and medium-sized rivers, irrigation areas, and municipal water system projects.It is usually used to retain water, adjust the water level, irrigation, generate hydro-electric power, control flood, etc.

* Stable operation and strong risk resistance
  When the dam bag is filled with water, its self-weight increases significantly, giving it better resistance to wind, waves, and water flow impact than inflatable rubber dams. It can maintain stability even in windy areas or regions with slightly turbulent currents. Additionally, water as a medium can form a circulation with the river water, reducing the risk of water quality deterioration inside the dam.
* Good durability and longer service life
  When filled with water, the dam bag is subjected to more uniform forces, and long-term operation is less likely to cause local wear due to air pressure fluctuations. Some designs can control dam deformation by adjusting the water filling volume, reducing fatigue damage to the dam bag. Its typical service life is 15-20 years, which is longer than that of some inflatable rubber dams.
* Easy maintenance and low dependency
  It requires no complex inflation equipment or air pressure monitoring systems. Water filling and drainage can directly utilize river water sources or surrounding water supply facilities, resulting in low equipment failure rates. Daily maintenance only involves regular inspections of dam bag leaks and the integrity of anchor points, with an operational difficulty lower than that of inflatable rubber dams.
* Moderate cost and wide adaptability
  Its construction cost falls between that of inflatable rubber dams and traditional rigid dams. It avoids the strict airtightness requirements of inflatable dams while eliminating the need for the heavy structures of traditional dams. With low requirements for foundation geological conditions, it is suitable for small and medium-sized projects.
* Excellent environmental performance and eco- friendliness
  The water-filling medium is natural water, posing no risk of chemical pollution. When the dam collapses, its body lies tightly against the riverbed, without affecting the original ecological corridors of the river channel. It is suitable for river and lake projects with high ecological protection requirements.
