Air inflatable rubber dam, a long tubular-shaped fabric, is a novel hydraulic building presented by the development of macromolecular synthetic material industry. Inflatable rubber dams use air as the inflation medium, with core features of high flexibility, low cost, and rapid construction. It consists of high strength canvas as the reinforced framework and synthetic rubber, is fixed to a reinforced concrete foundation using clamping plates and anchor bolts. In dry seasons, the rubber dam is inflated by air to retain water for industrial, agricultural and living water demands; in rainy seasons, the air in the sealed bag can be deflated out to release floodwater from river course. Its cost is lower than water inflatable rubber dam and traditional dam. It can be installed in 3 to 15 days and be put into use soon. Medium will not freeze in winter. They are applied in multiple scenarios including water conservancy, agriculture, and municipal engineering, and are particularly suitable for small and medium-sized rivers as well as projects sensitive to construction period and cost.It is usually used for retain water, irrigation, control flood, power generation, etc.

Inflatable Rubber Dam Features
* Flexible in adjustment and quick in response
  It features fast inflation and deflation speeds, enabling rapid raising and lowering of the dam. During dry seasons, it inflates to retain and store water; during rainy seasons, it deflates to collapse the dam for flood discharge. This allows flexible adaptation to different hydrological conditions and reduces flood risks.
* Lower in cost with high cost-effectiveness
  It requires no complex rigid structures (such as the piers and gates of traditional dams), with material and construction costs accounting for only 30%-60% of those of traditional dams of the same scale. Additionally, its post-construction maintenance is simple, and the operation and maintenance costs are significantly lower than those of water-filled rubber dams.
* Simpler construction process and shorter time frame
  The dam body is a prefabricated flexible structure, with on-site installation mainly involving splicing and anchoring. The construction period is usually only 3-15 days, which is much shorter than the several months or even years required for traditional dams, allowing it to be put into use quickly.
* Strong adaptability to various environments
  In winter, the medium inside the dam is air, which is not easy to freeze (avoiding the problem of freezing and cracking that occurs in water-filled rubber dams). The flexible dam body can adapt to slight foundation settlement and has lower requirements for the foundation than rigid dam bodies.
* Small footprint and excellent landscape integration
  When the dam is collapsed, its body lies tightly against the riverbed, without affecting the original flood discharge cross-section of the river. Some designs can also meet landscape needs—when water overflows the dam crest, it forms waterfall-like scenic effects, making it suitable for municipal waterfront projects.
